Mid-Spring Herb Walk

$25.00
sold out

Sunday, May 16, 2021 | 11 AM - 1 PM

Have you ever been curious about identifying medicinal plants or mushrooms? There is no better time than Spring to begin your journey about foraging!

We will begin our journey chatting about foraging basics, considerations to have before starting this practice and how to forage with respect to plants and Nature. We’ll then take a hike through the forest and chat about plants we come across, identification techniques, when they are best to harvest, how to harvest them sustainably and different medicines to be made with them.

No prior experience in herbalism or foraging is necessary! Please be prepared to hike through some rocky terrain, tall grasses or wet areas.

I envision sharing lunch together after our hike in a spaced-out area, so if you’d like to stay for this, please bring a lunch with you!

Typical items brought to these walks are water bottles, small backpacks, hiking shoes, sun hats, a notebook and a pencil.

Note: Time length is an estimate, we may go over!

Location: Palos Forest Preserves in Palos, IL, exact location will be released closer to date
